"I found it! The one case to rule them all! Okay, so I have tried several cases for my iPad Air. Each of them had aspects that I liked, but each of them had some kind of drawback as I attempted to use it in the various capacities I need most often. Now that I’ve tried this case, I don’t need to try anything else. This one does everything I want it to, and it makes using my iPad easy no matter which task I’m working on. The case allows for viewing in both landscape and portrait orientations. The round magnetic portion on the back allows the device to rotate to your preferred position. This is very useful if you’re watching video, browsing the internet, or typing a document. The buttons are accessible in any orientation, and they’re aligned accurately. If you do much work on your iPad without setting it up in viewing mode — for example if you use the Apple Pencil to write or draw directly on the screen like I often do — you can detach the iPad in its protective case from the folio portion and work without the extra flap folded over on the back. It’s very comfortable to use like this, like drawing or writing on a pad of paper, and the iPad still remains well protected while you write or draw. There’s even a raised edge around the screen just high enough to offer a little extra protection against damage to the screen if you happen to place it face down on a flat surface. When you’re done writing or drawing, you can simply reattach the folio portion and close the cover. Little touches (like the raised edge around the screen and the secure tabs inside the cover to create stability while viewing) are what really make this case stand out. All portions of the case appear to be well made and offer good protection for the device. At first, I felt like the slot for the Apple Pencil was a bit snug, but even after only a few days of using it, I find it less difficult, so either I’ve gotten used to it or it isn’t quite as tightly fitted as it first seemed. It certainly wouldn’t deter me from using the case. If anything, it prevents the slot from becoming loose and less secure for the pencil’s storage. Overall, this case is THE most versatile option I have tried for my iPad Air thus far. Considering my combined use of the iPad for viewing, typing, and handwriting on the screen, there hasn't been another case which easily accommodated all of those uses, especially while retaining an element of style and sturdy protection without a lot of bulk. I am totally delighted with every aspect of it, and it slips into my carrying bag perfectly too. Can I give it more than five stars? Because it’s worth a couple extras."
